Viagra

Viagra (sildenafil) is a prescription phosphodiesterase inhibitor that has been specially designed for males that experience temporary or constant problems achieving an erection that would be hard enough to have sex. Erectile dysfunction can be caused by a variety of factors, and Viagra is likely to treat it in all of those cases. Before you start taking any dose of Viagra, talking to your doctor is recommended, as this is the only way to make sure you will benefit from your treatment without any side effects whatsoever. If you are allergic to any of the ingredients (active or inactive) each tablet of Viagra contains, you are not supposed to start the treatment, as otherwise an allergic reaction is possible all over again. Make sure you tell your doctor if you have an allergy to sildenafil or other medications so that an alternative method of treatment could be found. The following symptoms can occur if you take Viagra in spite of a history of an allergic reaction: rash, hives, trouble breathing and swelling of your face hands, feet or throat. The following side effects are possible when you start taking Viagra and while your body is adjusting to the dosage prescribed: light sensitivity, headache, insomnia, numbness, burning, or tingling, diarrhea, flushing, nosebleeds, heartburn, and muscle aches. The side effects mentioned above are considered to be mild and are not supposed to be reported to your doctor unless they change in intensity and interfere with your everyday life. More serious side effects, however, need to be reported as soon as possible to make sure they do not get worse. The following ones should cause concern: chest pain, sudden hearing loss, swelling, nausea, sudden vision loss, general ill feeling, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, irregular heartbeat, sweating, and prolonged penis erection (priapism). To see how you react to the dose prescribed your doctor may start you on a lowest dose of Viagra – 25 mg, although in most cases the 50 mg dose is prescribed. It all can depend on your age and current health condition, as older people are more susceptible to the effects of Viagra and therefore may require a lower dose. If you or someone else may have taken too much of Viagra and any of the following symptoms are displayed, make sure you seek emergency medical help: irregular heartbeat, nausea, chest pain, fainting, and lightheadedness.
